How quickly can I get my qualification?
This depends on many things including: which qualification you wish to study, your current work and study experience, if you are eligible for funding and how long it takes you to complete your compulsory work placement.
Am I eligible for funding to decrease my course fees?
3Bridges is a Smart and Skilled training provider and so we are able to offer cheaper course costs to students who are eligible. Eligibility for reduced course fees is determined by each student’s personal situation. To check if you are eligible for Smart and Skilled funding go to www.smartandskilled.gov.au or give us a ring on 1300 327 434.
How much work is involved in getting my qualification?
The amount of work each student needs to complete to achieve their qualification depends on the course they study. For the qualifications 3bridges offer there is generally a:
- Self study component – this is research, completing assessments
- Compulsory work component – every qualification we offer has a compulsory work placement which may be 100 or 120 hours. 3bridges can help you find a placement or a number of placements to fulfil this requirement and all placements are supervised.
- Written / verbal questions
- Examining case studies
Why do I need a log in to the student portal?
The student portal is your unique place to access your assessments, access important documentation and receive messages. The portal is your ‘go to’ place to access important information about your course. Your log in is unique to you and you should keep it secure.
How do I submit my work?
You can submit your assessments and work via our email firstname.lastname@example.org or by normal mail. It is preferred that you email your work as this way you can keep a record of when you submitted it.
How many assessments are there?
Each qualification we offer has assessments per unit of competency. This is to ensure that you understand the theory and can transfer your learning to the workplace. Each unit of competency has questions, case studies and a workplace component to complete before you can submit your assessment. You cannot be deemed competent in a unit of competency until all aspects of assessments are completed to a satisfactory level by a qualified assessor. For example: the Certificate III in Individual Support has a total of 13 units of competency and so there is 13 assessments (comprising of the questions, case studies and workplace component) that need to be completed.
What other work do I need to compete to get my qualification?
In addition to your assessments you are required to complete a:
- Student journal which records your compulsory hours of work placement
- Self study record
- Supervisor report
The 3Bridges Education and training team will update you about your progress and what work you need to do to complete your qualification on a regular basis.
Do I have to attend classes?
No, but you can if you want. 3Bridges offer a range of study options to suit your personal needs and circumstances. We offer face–to face classes, mixed mode study (that is some face-to-face classes and the rest in your own time) and study by distance. Ring us to discuss your preferences and the type of study we are offering in your chosen qualification.
Course fees vary depending on a number of things including:
- your chosen qualification
- if you have any credit transfers
- if you apply and granted RPL for some units
- if you are eligible for funding that may be available
- mode of study you choose
- our personal preference and commitments

How can I pay?
You can pay by electronic transfer once we issue an invoice, by cheque or cash. We will not ask you to pay more than $1500 up front. If your course costs more than this then we will invoice you again for the remaining amount. We can arrange payment instalments if you wish. NO qualification will be issued until all outstanding invoices and course fee payments are paid in full.
I am a visa holder living in Australia, can I study with 3Bridges?
There are many visa types issued by the Australian Government so please ring us to discuss your personal situation. However, 3Bridges cannot accept enrolments from International Students on a Student Visa. Only CRICOS approved providers may accept International Students and only if your visa condition allows it.
What is Smart and Skilled?
3Bridges Community is a Smart and Skilled provider. Smart and Skilled is a NSW Government initiative subsidising people to get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers by achieving a nationally accredited qualification.
Smart and Skilled provides eligible students with an entitlement to government subsidised training. Ring our Education and Training team on 1300 327 434 to discuss how we can help you access the subsidised training from the NSW Government. This website also contains information on the implications of cancelling your training, transferring between training providers and learner’s’ ongoing entitlement to access government funding after commencing this qualification.
